Big News

Our sweet boy took his first steps this week!! He apparently took three steps at daycare Monday (not too happy that they told me about it since I obviously missed it, but whatever) and then he took two steps Tuesday at our house and one Wednesday night and one Thursday night so it's not much, but he's doing it!! I think since he's so tall it's harder for him to keep his balance, but he's definitely on his way...I know this is short, but I just had to share that wonderful news!!

The Fun Begins

Ok, so we're 11 days into March and I'm already exhausted. I don't like Daylight Savings time and this was not a good weekend for it to happen! Well since I was on here last, Timothy has gotten another ear infection and another split lip. I guess they just have to happen together? He's doing much better now, he's been on antibiotics for about a week now so it seems to be helping.

We went to a Sonics game last Sunday night, it was the JDRF night so Heather got us all tickets and since they were playing Charlotte, Tyler got to meet Adam Morrison who is also diabetic and he got to meet some of the Sonics, he was pretty pumped about that.

Last week was month end closing at work so that was busy as usual and Timothy had his first day at KinderCare. He seemed to like it and everyone there kept going on and on about how happy he is, so that made me feel better. He starts full-time there tomorrow. Full-time for us is only three days a week, but it's three 10 hour days so it's a lot. The good part about it is I can start work earlier and leave earlier so I think it will work out for the best!

Yesterday Brandon and I went out to dinner at The Melting Pot (yummy) and Aunt Heather and Tyler watched Timothy for us...it was pretty nice, we were celebrating our anniversary, we always go to eat there, it's our little tradition. So that was fun and Timothy had fun playing "ninjas" with Tyler.

Speaking of Tyler, I sent out an email to everyone I could possibly think of to let you all know that we're raising money to participate in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fun Walk for the Cure which takes place here in Tacoma on May 5th. If anyone wants to walk with us or is interested in donating, just send me an email (lindsay_york@hotmail.com) and I'll send you the link to donate. We're really excited about it, we're going to have team shirts made and Heather's putting together a video of Tyler to share with everyone telling more about his fight with diabetes and what he has to do to basically survive. Long story short, that kid has been through more in 8 years than I could have ever imagined and he's had to endure things that I don't think I could get through and he deserves something good in his life and if participating in this walk will help find a way to cure him of diabetes then I'll do whatever I can to make that happen. I found this picture of him from when we went to the zoo this summer and I thought it was pretty funny. He wanted to pose for this one because Brittany and Kevin took a picture like this in South Padre this summer and he wanted to do it too. I added a vacation picture too, this was right after he was diagnosed (and there's Hadley too!).

And of course I have to add pictures of Timothy just being his normal happy (yet sick) self. He's getting so close to walking, it's just a matter of time...it's still a little scary to think about. He also has a new "chore"...he holds the dog's leash while she's outside. It's so cure, he really just holds it and sits there and watches her, he loves it. And I had to add a picure of him looking all cool in his sunglasses, he hates them and pulls them off as soon as I let his hands go free, but they're pretty cute!

And baby Easton is getting so big now!

I'll keep you all updated on the JDRF walk and fundraising efforts...if you can't give your time or money, please at least give your prayers that a cure will be found so no more kids will have to live with this disease. And of course, everyone in our family says a great big THANK YOU!!

Calm Before the Storm

Have I mentioned how much I'm dreading next month? I'm going to be so incredibly busy it's already stressing me out. To start it off, we have our month end closing at work next week, which means things are already busy getting ready for that. Then, we have to do account reconciliations which are always a nightmare and take up a lot of time, but to make things worse, this month we have to use a new format which means everything has to be converted over which takes up more time (meaning my flex days and weekends)...to make things worse, our boss scheduled all these team building things that are going to take up three solid days and then the week of my birthday we have this huge meeting that I'm in charge of, so there's another ton of stress piled up on me. I'm seriously dreading it, I'm not going to see my son much, when I do I'll be at the computer working, I'm not going to have time to make dinner or keep the house clean and it's just going to be bad. I can't wait for April. So today I promised myself that I wouldn't do any "work" work so that I can get things done to prepare for the storm to come...plus it's snowing (again) so I've been enjoying watching that.

Our family has had some ups and downs this week, my mom called last night to tell me she has shingles, no fun there! So she can't really be around the boys much, plus she's in a lot of pain so she needs lots of prayers. On the good side, we're going to the Sonics game on Sunday night, I'm pretty excited about that, it will be Timothy's first professional sports event. I wanted to find him a little Sonics outfit, but I haven't had much luck there yet...maybe Saturday. Brandon and I went to a couples communication class last night at our pediatricians' office. It was a great class, we really learned a lot so hopefully things will get better there (not that they were bad, but everyone can always use help communicating, especially with someone so different from yourself!).

On to the boy...Timothy is trying so hard to walk...he will do it now only holding onto one of my hands, but he has a death grip on that one hand so he's not quite ready to step out on his own yet, which is fine with me. He does love to walk though. If you even act like your going to hold his hands, he immediately gets up and starts to go! He's been giving more hugs and kisses lately, they are so sweet. Every morning when we go in there to get him up he just smiles and gets so happy and he has to give both of us hugs and kisses, it's so cute. He also learned how to make a fish face, I don't know how, but it's really funny. He's been trying to climb on everything and sometimes gets himself in some pretty funny spots...he is so risky! I think we're going to switch to a new daycare, we're going to check it out later today and see if we like it. It's really close to my office which means I could work better hours and spend more time with him and Brandon at home.

There hasn't been too much else going on up here. I posted some new pictures of baby Easton below, he's getting big too, almost one month old! We can't wait to see him. If I have time in the next few weeks to get on here I will, it may be at two in the morning when I'm frantically trying to reconcile stupid asset accounts...oh well, the joys of working.

I Love President's Day

This is going to be a good week, I love holidays. I was home yesterday, had to work today, but I'll be home tomorrow and Friday! I'm not really supposed to be home on Friday, but I'm calling in sick so that I can spend the day with Timothy. Our Ladies Retreat at church is this weekend and it's going to be my first night away from him so I decided I should stay home that day to make up for it. We've been practicing having Brandon put him to bed, usually I give him his bottle and do the prayers and the songs but Brandon did it Saturday and we're trying it again tonight. We'll see how it goes!

I'm really excited for our Ladies Retreat, the theme this year is "Too Blessed to be Stressed" and it's supposed to be a really fun weekend. The past few years it's been a cry fest, but the ladies in charge this year decided to change it up and have more fun. The best part is staying up late on Friday night, playing cards and talking. I wish Karen was here this year, we will miss you! It's tough being the youngest one there, not that I don't enjoy hanging out with my mom and our friends, but there's just not many girls my age at our church that are very active. And the two that are can't come because they have little ones and their husbands aren't here. If I could only persuade that little sister of mine to come...but that's another battle!

Timothy is still growing by leaps and bounds, he was 10 months old yesterday. He loves to stand by himself now, he'll pull up on anything and just let go and stand there. It's really cute, he's so brave! He's starting to get a little risky and let go of one thing to step and reach for another thing. I guess we're on our way to walking, not sure if I'm excited or scared! My mom got him some big boy walking shoes last weekend, we took him to Nordstrom's and they measured his feet and everything...he's in a 5 1/2! So he has cool new tennis shoes now, he hasn't quite figured out how to move around in them yet, but he's getting the hang of it! He's also started clapping a lot more. It's so cute. He mostly does it when he's eating which means little pieces of food go flying...oh well, that's what the dog is here for!
His other new trick is "winking"...it's pretty cute
And my mom and dad got him an Elmo card for Valentine's Day, he carried it around with him everywhere that morning!

Sorry for the randomness with the pictures...I just realized I hadn't posted any in a while! Nothing else too interesting is going on here. We had a good weekend, mainly hanging out at home, relaxing...I went to the gym, Brandon washed the cars, I got to go shopping by myself for my Valentine's Day present. No big plans coming up either. Our anniversary is a couple of weeks away, three years already. We're doing our usual celebration, dinner at the Melting Pot (yummy!!). And that's about it...sorry we're so boring lately! I promise things will become more interesting as we move closer to that first birthday...only 57 more days!

Running on Caffiene

I'm seriously living on coffee these days. I don't usually drink much of it, but lately it's all I can do to stay awake! Timothy has yet another cold and this one came with a really bad cough so he's been coughing all night long. He doesn't actually wake up, but it wakes me up thinking, "can he breathe ok, is he awake, do I need to go check on him" and then by the time I calm down and fall asleep again, he starts coughing. The last time I looked at the clock last night it was 4:30 and I was supposed to get up at 5:00, but thankfully Brandon stayed home today so I didn't have to leave as early. I really hope this cough goes away. He's cutting his top two teeth though, so it might get worse before it gets better. The doctor told us we could give him Delsym before bed at night, but it didn't seem to help any last night. Oh well, drug him up anyway!

Nothing too exciting is going on here, but I was inspired to blog since Stacia made me feel better about not catching up on blogging. It has been a bit of a dry spell lately, and we were SO busy last week. It was month end close for me, so that's always busy, but Monday night we ended up doing something that took up the whole night but I can't remember what it was, Tuesday night we were at the Oden's for American Idol night, Wednesday night was church, Thursday night one of the elder's from church came over to the house to talk to us about some stuff and then we went to the Oden's again to watch Survivor (and to pick up Timothy, thanks to Cindy for watching him) and then Friday night we did some shopping. That was more fun than stressful though! Plus the whole week we were back and forth on the phone with Brandon's family waiting for baby Easton to arrive. He's a good healthy little boy and Rheanna's doing great.

My parents were in Vegas last week, but no big money wins. Oh well, guess I'll have to count on the lottery now to get me out of working! Yeah right! Nothing too big coming up for us, we celebrated Valentine's Day last Saturday night by putting Timothy to bed early and cooking a dinner for two. It was nice and good food too, Brandon grilled out steaks! We don't have any major plans for this week, catch up on sleep, work out...nothing major. By the way, I've lost five whole pounds since I began my goal of losing 30 pounds by July. So now I can say I only need to lose 25!

Anyway, since I'm sure none of this really makes sense, I'll go ahead and go...just remember if you're reading this and can't make any sense of it, I'm going on four cups of coffee and about three hours of sleep!

Here He Is!

Easton Colin Everett was born on Tuesday February 6, 2007, weighing 8 pounds 3 ounces, 20 1/2 inches long. Rheanna's doing fine, she had to have a c-section, but she's recovering well. Look at all that hair!

More on Our New Nephew

OK, so Rheanna had an ultrasound this past week and they think that Easton is measuring really big (like 8 1/2 pounds) so they were going to schedule a c-section but decided to wait until this coming Tuesday and they're going to induce instead. Easton isn't exactly in the right position to come through the birth canal, but (I think) the doctor told her that he was going to try to move Easton into the correct position once her water broke. So it all sounds a little scary to me, but you know doctors, I'm sure they have it all under control! We will have a new nephew on Tuesday!! Of course, we won't get to actually meet him until April, but I'm sure we'll get plenty of pictures before then (we'd better!).

Nothing much new here, still sick, and that's about it. Timothy is starting to let go and stand on his own more often now, I just feel so bad for him, his little nose is all gross and crusty and runny and he screams when we try to touch it to clean it. His cough was much better last night though so that was good. I only heard him coughing once, it happens every night around 12:30 am. Oh well, at least he's regular!

A not so great milestone that we've hit now...I think we may be through with nursing. It was slowing down a lot anyway, I could only pump an ounce or two a day, and then with this sinus infection the doctor had to give me a decongestant and that pretty much dried me up everywhere. I'm trying to at least still nurse him in the morning and at night, but other than that, it's all bottles. Oh well, we made it almost 10 months so that's not too bad! On a somewhat happy and scary note though, in 74 days he'll be one year old. I've already got his party planned, I'm so excited. He actually gets to have two parties, we'll be in TX the weekend before his birthday so we're going to have an Elmo party with the family down there, and then the next weekend we're going to have a balloon party up here. This boy loves balloons. So we've got a lot to think about in the next few months!

Anyway, I should run, we have that meet and greet with our preacher candidate in an hour and I need to wake up Timothy and get him dressed and attempt to clean his nose again (pray for me!).
