Pumpkins Everywhere!

What a busy week this has been...actually, Monday and Tuesday were pretty slow, but yesterday and today have been busy!! Yesterday the kids and I met my mom at the mall to get Charlotte's two month pictures made and then we took some pictures at the little pumpkin farm thing they had outside the mall and then tonight we carved our pumpkin. We had bought two big pumpkins, but on the way to the Fall Festival to decorate this past weekend, I had them in the trunk and I had to stop real quick and of course I heard them roll and hit the back of the car and one of them got a big hole in it so we had to chunk that one. So anyway, not much time for talking, but I'll post pictures.

Fall Festival

This past Saturday at church was our annual Fall Festival and this year we made it a huge community outreach as well. We had close to 300 people from the Tacoma area there and over 40 said they were interested in a Bible study...I thought it was great, it was completely free and there were a ton of huge blow up games for kids and adults and a bunch of carnival-type games and the fire department brought a fire truck for the kids to climb up in and we had some yummy food...it was a great day all around. My mom and I had to staff the church relations booth and in the hour that we were back there we handed out two boxes worth of Bibles to kids in our community, praise God for that!!

Timothy had a blast playing all the games, I didn't get to see him do most of it, but thankfully Brandon's sister Larena was here to visit and she took lots of pictures!! He loved the big slide and he got a ton of candy, it was great. We had a great time visiting with Larena, we don't get many visitors up here since everyone has to fly, so it's always a special treat when anyone comes to visit. We had a birthday party for her Friday night, her birthday is next month, but when Timothy talks about birthdays, we always have to talk about who has the next birthday and in this case, she was the winner so he wanted to do a happy birthday party for her...pretty much he just wanted cake, but he did sing to her, it was pretty cute. Saturday we went to the Fall Festival and then out to dinner that night and then we went to see High School Musical 3...I think those are just the cutest movies ever, I know it's a little nerdy, but Timothy loves them too and he did great through the whole thing.

Anyway, here are pictures from the weekend, thanks Larena, for sending them so quickly!!

Buzz Lightyear...Ready for Potty Training?

Timothy decided this year he wanted to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween, I wanted him to be a tiger, but I couldn't find a costume I liked in his size and so we gave him a choice between Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear and he picked Buzz. His costume came in the mail last week and with all the craziness around our house last week I waited until yesterday to try it on him...it's so cute, and he loves it! He wore it around the house for a good two hours before I made him take it off. He kept jumping around saying, "I Buzz Lightyear...to inifinity and beyond...I fly away!" He had a blast...of course he had to play with his light saber while in his space gear...it was too cute. Aunt Larena came to visit this past weekend and got him a light saber and he loves it so much...we even caught him sleeping with it Saturday night! So here are some pictures of our little Buzz...

So on to the potty training - warning, this is a little long winded and probably boring for most...Sunday night, we put him down to bed and he really didn't want to go, but you know how that goes...so he's in bed and we all went to bed and at 11p.m. I heard him crying so I went in there and he had taken off his pj's and his diaper and peed on his bed...yuck...I know it could have been worse, but I really was so tired and didn't feel like cleaning up his sheets and all that...so I called Brandon in there and we stripped his sheets off and pulled up his quilt (the quilt usually just stays folded at the end of the bed because he doesn't like to sleep with blankets on him) so we put him back to bed on the quilt and thought he would be ok...an hour later I hear him crying again so Brandon went in to check on him and he had stripped down again, thankfully no pee on the bed this time...so Brandon put his diaper and pj's back on and put him back to bed...end of our night of weirdness...Monday morning, I put Charlotte down for a nap and went out in the garage to do some laundry and came back in and the little stinker had taken off his pj's and diaper AGAIN and was attempting to put his diaper on his bear...the weird thing about this time was that he had actually put his pj's back on and he acted like he really didn't want to wear a diaper...so I made him go potty and then put on a pull up and he was ok the rest of the day...we did have to keep a (clean) diaper on his bear for the rest of the day though.

So, does this sound like a child that's ready for potty training? Every time I ask him to go, he says no, I've offered everything I can think of as a bribe and nothing works. When he was in day care, his teacher had him going potty there and using pull ups, but he won't do it at home. I know it's probably not the best time to start since he'll be in a new house and a new daycare and a new church and all that in a couple of months, but I don't want to push it out too long...this child has always done everything on his own, he gave up a bottle without any trying, he weaned without any problems, moved to a big boy bed with a few problems, but not many...so I feel like I should wait until he says he's ready, but are these signs that he's ready? So confusing...anyway, enjoy the pictures, I'll get some of Charlotte in her costume later, we're having a big Halloween party at my parents house this year, they just (almost) finished remodeling their kitchen, so I'm really excited to see it...anyway, happy early Halloween!!

Leaving the Nest

Well since the last person that reads this blog that didn't already know will be here today to visit us to hear our news...I figured I could go ahead and share it on here. Brandon has been offered a promotion/transfer and come January we will officially be Texans. The branch of the Army that he works for is headquartered in San Antonio and they are doing some big restructuring and an opportunity came up for a special job down there that Brandon's boss thought he would be perfect for, so for the fourth time in almost five years, I will be packing up our house and we will be moving. We just found out last Wednesday and I think I've had about a billion things going through my head since then. I finally made Brandon sit down with me and make a list so I wouldn't go crazy! I can't imagine what life is going to be like without my parents and sisters just minutes away and I'm really trying not to think about it. While I know it will be really hard and sad to leave, it is a little exciting at the same time. Anyway, I can't say much more because I might start to cry or I'll go into crazy detail about all the things that I can't stop thinking about (houses, moving, day care, jobs, the list goes on)...so there's our news and I'm sure you'll hear much more as the weeks go on!!

Two Months Old

Well here she is, our big little two month old princess! So what has she been up to this past month?

I am growing so big and I can't fit in some of my 3 month size clothes anymore! I still don't like to take bottles and I gag like crazy if you try to give me a pacifier. I think I'm going to really like my thumb when I find it, but for now I just suck on my fist!

I just recently started sleeping more regularly from 10-5 and then again from 5:30 to 8:30. Mommy loves it, especially since she's staying home with me full time now!

I still hate my car seat and scream like crazy when I'm in the car, it's getting a little better, but not much. If Grammy sits in the back with me, I'm just fine and I even laugh and smile at her.

I smile all the time now (when I'm not in the car) and I even laugh when something is really funny...like when mommy looks at me and says, "goo".

I can hold my head up pretty well and I like to look at everything. I love to look at faces, especially mommy's and brother's.

I'm a happy healthy baby and I can't wait to tell you all next month what new tricks I've learned!

Pumpkin Patch 2008

This past Saturday we went to the pumpkin patch for Ethan's birthday party. We've been going there for four years now, it's crazy to think how much things have changed since that first visit! Timothy had a blast picking out his pumpkin and checking out all the fun things to do there. All the birthday party kids got to go on a hayride and then pick out their own pumpkin and then we went to the petting farm and hung out with the animals and finished off the day picking out the big pumpkins to go on our porch. While Brandon and Charlotte waited in line to pay for them, Timothy and I tried to do the hay maze, but we couldn't figure it out so we finally managed to find our way back to the beginning after about 15 minutes of trying! Charlotte did great, she slept through the whole thing and stayed in the carrier with daddy under a blanket. I even got a little video of Timothy showing off his pumpkin (or "punkin"). So here's the pictures and the video and I promise I will get Charlotte's two month pictures up soon too!

Pictures from the birthday party

Daddy taught Timothy to do his "hook 'em horns" fingers...it takes him a while to get it, but he gets really excited once he does!

So here's Timothy over the past three years...time flies!

And here's his "punkin" video...it's the first one I've tried on this new camera, so it's probably not very good and it's pretty short, but I thought it was cute!

Growing Like a Weed

Today we had Charlotte's two month check up and she is getting so big!! She checked in at 12 pounds 14 ounces and 24 inches long!! I couldn't believe she was that big...I mean, she feels a lot heavier, but I was thinking she would be more around 11 pounds...oh well, I guess the main blessing is that she's very healthy and doing very well. I am going to take her two month pictures in her chair on Friday so I'll post some pictures then and let you know what she's been up to in the last month!

Comparisons

So many people think that Charlotte looks just like Timothy and while I definitely think you can tell they're related, I don't think they look that much alike...so here's a picture of Timothy at two months old and the most recent one I have of Charlotte...so you tell me what you think!

Smiley Girl

Charlotte is just starting to smile so I finally caught some good ones on the camera today and thought I would share!

Hey, what makes you think I'm going to smile at you?

I'm a little sleepy...gotta get a yawn out first...

Ok, I'll think about it, but you're going to have to make some funny faces!

Uh oh, here it comes!

Yeah! Smiles!

Oh my mommy's so silly!

I'm such a happy girl!

But I'm still sleepy...

And now I'm done!
