It feels so nice to have a normal week this week. Timothy has gone to daycare for two days in a row which hasn't happened all month and no one is sick so far this week! It's been nice and relaxing (so far) and that's the plan for the rest of it. So while I have time and energy, I thought I would catch up on what Timothy has been up to lately.
He has picked up some bad habits...the worst being throwing food off of his high chair tray. He knows he's not allowed to do that but he'll look at me and move his hand to the edge of the tray just to see if I'll say "no". He also knows he's not allowed to touch the fireplace screen so he plays next to it and gets as close as he can so that he has an excuse to touch it. It's been so much fun learning to discipline a one year old! And I can imagine it will get worse before it gets better, but oh well, that's what we signed up for I guess! He has also been incredibly sweet lately. He's giving lots of hugs and kisses so I can't complain there. He's hilarious when he's walking and he needs to turn because he just pivots on his foot, we call him our little basketball boy, Brandon's all excited because Timothy will only (usually only) throw with his left hand, BUT he only points with his right hand, so whos knows what that means! He's starting to try to talk more and more, it's so cute, he just babbles all the time. He can say "mama", "dada", "no no" and "Dixie" (our dog). It sounds more like "ditty" but we know what he means...and his "no no" usually comes out "na na" but you definitely know what he means when he's saying (yelling) it! He will also open a book now and just start babbling at one page and then turn the page and babble some more like he's reading.
We're having a bit of a problem with his daycare though. He was in the infant room there until this week because the age limit there is one year so he moved up this week to the toddler room. It totally makes sense and I'm glad he's with kids his age. The ages in the toddler room are 12-20 months. But it's a completely different environment. The teachers in that room are much less involved and seem really impersonal and they make the kids eat sitting in little chairs at a table and they sleep on cots. Maybe I'm still baby-ing him, but at home he eats in his high chair and sleeps in a crib? So I was getting a little upset about it yesterday, they send home a paper each day saying when they ate and slept and all that and he hadn't had anything to eat in 5 hours which is a little ridiculous for a one year old and he had only slept an hour which means he fell asleep on the way home which means he was fussy all night...so anyway, I said all that to say that I had been really upset and praying about it a lot and I remembered that Brandon had put Timothy on the waiting list for the daycare at Fort Lewis where he works so I asked him last night if he had called back to check on his status as far as the waiting list goes and he had not so he called today and they had a spot for him! So Brandon is going to register him tomorrow and we're going to orientation as soon as possible to check it all out. It's much less expensive and Timothy would be able to get more sleep at night and he wouldn't have to be there as long as he is now because Brandon works less hours than I do plus I would get more sleep and be able to get home sooner so we're really praying that this one works out.
Anyway, sorry that got a little long...we don't have too much else going on the rest of this week, my parents are in TX for cousin Linden's first birthday so Happy Birthday Linden!!! We wish we could be there to celebrate with you all and hope you have a great birthday and we love you all! Next Saturday is the JDRF Walk that we're doing for Tyler so I've been practicing walking long distances. I did two and a half miles last night which is half of the JDRF Walk so I think I can make it next Saturday! If anyone still wants to donate or sign up to walk, the link is http://walk.jdrf.org/.
I think that's all I have to post for now, I have to finish getting things ready for this afternoon, we're taking Timothy to get his one year pictures made...I promise I'll do better at keeping this current now that all the craziness is over! Oh yeah, and here are some more pictures from birthdays and TX...
Push me Daddy, push me!!
