Three Years Old

Warning - this could be long and contain many many pictures!!
This past Sunday, my sweet little boy turned three years old. I can't believe it's been that long. I know every parent feels that way, but it's just crazy to think it's been three years. He has been, from the start, such a sweet boy. He is my cuddler, my sweetheart, my funny faces, the source of numerous laughs, tears, frustration, smiles, frustrating moments and extremely proud moments. So here is what Timothy is like at three years old.

He LOVES to do puzzles, he will sit all day long and do the same puzzle over and over again until he has it memorized. He always like the big chunky puzzles when he was younger, so for Christmas he got some 12 piece puzzles and he has quickly graduated to the 24 piece puzzles and loves them. I'm hoping that means he will grow to do something cool like engineering or architecture or something neat like that.

He also LOVES to color and draw. I still have the first piece of paper he colored on all by himself. It was right after he turned 18 months and we were at Red Robin and he colored on the kids menu. He can actually draw really well too (at least I think so) for a three year old. He told us the other day that he wanted to draw Grumpy and he drew a head, two eyes, a nose and a mouth, and two long legs with feet. He draws big zig zag lines and tells me they're stairs, and the other day he made a large masterpiece that he told us was a picture of his swing set. He's really into those Color Wonder markers and coloring books now. He will do a complete book in one quiet time!

He LOVES to be outside. He has discovered his joy for swinging and he just wants to sit and be pushed. He learned how to swing on his tummy too so he likes to run and jump on the swing and fly. He tells me to "push him way so high to the clouds!". He also loves his sandbox and when we turn on the water hose he will spray down everything in sight. He learned how to pedal a bike so he got a new Lightning McQueen bike for his birthday. We take it out at night and go around the block and he has to stop every few feet to pick up rocks or random things.

He LOVES sports. His favorites right now are basketball (because of High School Musical), golf and baseball. He can play them all fairly well and he's so excited that next year he gets to play "team ball" aka, t-ball. He has to be dressed to play though and I've learned which shirts and baseball shirts, which shorts are basketball shorts...if he's hitting the baseball he has to wear his batting helmet, if he's catching he has to wear the glove and cap. He totally plays the part!

He LOVES to dance and has most of the dances from High School Musical memorized. It's so funny to watch. He also LOVES to sing. He likes to sing Disney songs and HSM songs, but he also likes his Bible class songs. Usually, if I ask him to sing for me, he sings "Jesus Loves Me", but yesterday in WalMart he broke into "Roll the Gospel Chariot" out of nowhere!

He LOVES to read books and has graduated from board books to paper books (another sad, big boy moment). He usually stays up at night after we put him to bed and turns his lamp on and "reads" until he falls asleep. He will sit in anyone's lap if they will read to him. We even started reading the Magic Treehouse books the other day and he didn't want me to stop!

He is a great sleeper, once he gets to sleep. It takes him a while to fall asleep, but once he's out, there is no waking him! He would sleep till 11 am every day if I let him. He doesn't really take a nap anymore, but every now and then we get lucky! He is good about playing quietly in his room for "quiet time" though.
He loves to be around other children, he loves his Bible class, especially the childcare class on Tuesdays for Ladies Bible Class. He already has several "best friends" in his new class. He's going to VBS this summer too and he's so excited!

He is so sweet and he loves to cuddle. Usually at night, after Charlotte has gone to bed, he will crawl up on the couch next to me and cover us up with his blankie and just lay there and snuggle. I soak up every minute I can get!

He loves his sister and will try his hardest to keep her happy when she cries. He loves to wrestle and tackle with daddy. He loves his grandparents and is so excited when we get to see them. He prays every day for "his Tyler", it's cute.
He's a big boy! He weighed in at 36 pounds and was 39.5 inches at his check up Tuesday, which puts him in the 95th percentile for height and weight. He has totally passed up the 3T stage and is in 4T clothes and size 10 shoes! We have to buy hats for him in the big boy section because he has a large head - that must mean he's going to be smart, right? Haha...

We love you Timothy and we are so thankful that God blessed our family with you!
