Buzz Lightyear...Ready for Potty Training?

Timothy decided this year he wanted to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween, I wanted him to be a tiger, but I couldn't find a costume I liked in his size and so we gave him a choice between Peter Pan and Buzz Lightyear and he picked Buzz. His costume came in the mail last week and with all the craziness around our house last week I waited until yesterday to try it on him...it's so cute, and he loves it! He wore it around the house for a good two hours before I made him take it off. He kept jumping around saying, "I Buzz Lightyear...to inifinity and beyond...I fly away!" He had a blast...of course he had to play with his light saber while in his space gear...it was too cute. Aunt Larena came to visit this past weekend and got him a light saber and he loves it so much...we even caught him sleeping with it Saturday night! So here are some pictures of our little Buzz...

So on to the potty training - warning, this is a little long winded and probably boring for most...Sunday night, we put him down to bed and he really didn't want to go, but you know how that goes...so he's in bed and we all went to bed and at 11p.m. I heard him crying so I went in there and he had taken off his pj's and his diaper and peed on his bed...yuck...I know it could have been worse, but I really was so tired and didn't feel like cleaning up his sheets and all that...so I called Brandon in there and we stripped his sheets off and pulled up his quilt (the quilt usually just stays folded at the end of the bed because he doesn't like to sleep with blankets on him) so we put him back to bed on the quilt and thought he would be ok...an hour later I hear him crying again so Brandon went in to check on him and he had stripped down again, thankfully no pee on the bed this time...so Brandon put his diaper and pj's back on and put him back to bed...end of our night of weirdness...Monday morning, I put Charlotte down for a nap and went out in the garage to do some laundry and came back in and the little stinker had taken off his pj's and diaper AGAIN and was attempting to put his diaper on his bear...the weird thing about this time was that he had actually put his pj's back on and he acted like he really didn't want to wear a diaper...so I made him go potty and then put on a pull up and he was ok the rest of the day...we did have to keep a (clean) diaper on his bear for the rest of the day though.

So, does this sound like a child that's ready for potty training? Every time I ask him to go, he says no, I've offered everything I can think of as a bribe and nothing works. When he was in day care, his teacher had him going potty there and using pull ups, but he won't do it at home. I know it's probably not the best time to start since he'll be in a new house and a new daycare and a new church and all that in a couple of months, but I don't want to push it out too long...this child has always done everything on his own, he gave up a bottle without any trying, he weaned without any problems, moved to a big boy bed with a few problems, but not many...so I feel like I should wait until he says he's ready, but are these signs that he's ready? So confusing...anyway, enjoy the pictures, I'll get some of Charlotte in her costume later, we're having a big Halloween party at my parents house this year, they just (almost) finished remodeling their kitchen, so I'm really excited to see it...anyway, happy early Halloween!!
