Happy Halloween!

We had a great Halloween this year. We missed Grammy, of course, but she's having fun in Texas! I got to leave work early to pick up Timothy and I got him in his costume and then we went to pick up Tyler and got him in his costume. We stopped by the nursing home to visit my dad's aunt and then we went back to Aunt Heather's house for a party. Tyler was so hyper, I'm glad we have a few more years before we get to that stage! But he was a good Zorro and Timothy was the cutest Halloween turtle I've ever seen.

We left the party before the trick or treating started and headed home. Timothy fell asleep in the car on the way home so I had to take a picture of it, he was so cute.

Then we let him play with the candy and that was about all he could take. It was a good night. I can't wait for next year when he's older and can understand more.

So now we're gearing up for Thanksgiving. We leave for TX on the 18th so only about two and a half weeks left to go. I'm so excited for the vacation, this week already seems long and it's only Tuesday! Please pray that I can find a new job soon, I'm just really unhappy at this one. I was hoping I could put in my two week notice this Friday, but unless a miracle happens, that will probably have to wait. Oh well, I guess there's a reason for all of this, just wish I knew what it was.

We've got a busy few weeks ahead, I'm helping with a baby shower at church next Sunday and Brandon and I are going to try to get a sitter so we can go out house hunting one of these weekends. We're hopefully moving sometime in December, just somewhere else around here, something a little nicer for Timothy. So we'll be busy little bees up here, pray for us!

Everything Will Change

So we've reached a major milestone in the journey of parenthood this weekend. Friday night, Brandon and I decided that we should let Timothy down on the floor to play so I threw some of his toys down there with him and we set him down and he took off CRAWLING to get a toy. Of course we were happy, but a little scared too. This changes everything now. We have a mobile child now. He could get around before, just scooting and rolling, but now he's crawling!!! Sorry if I seem a little weirded out by it, I just honestly didn't expect this to happen for another month or two. But he absolutely loves being able to move.

Yesterday we had this big thing at church, like a carnival, and we were all sitting on the ground with another couple that has a baby girl Madeline that was born a few days before Timothy and they were so cute playing together. Timothy kept grabbing her legs and she tried to bite him on the head. It was so funny to watch him playing with another baby. Oh yeah, and we had a chili cook-off at the church and Brandon won so he's all happy about that now. I couldn't eat his chili, it was too spicy for me, but I guess the judges liked it! He was pretty proud of it, he got a new crockpot and a certificate.

Another fun Timothy story...a couple of weeks ago he was getting fussy so I put my finger up to his mouth and was moving it up and down to make a funny noise with his lips (you know what I mean, right?), and now he has started trying to do it himself with his fist and the other night at dinner he grabbed Tyler hand and was trying to make him do it to him. It's amazing what they learn! Plus it's really funny to watch him try to do it by himself.

I think those are all the funny stories for now, I don't know when I'll be on here again this week, it will be a hectic week at work and at home. I'll keep ya'll updated on Halloween activities, so far the plans are to go visit my dad's aunt in the nursing home and then go to Heather's to trick or treat. Have a good week!

I love Wednesdays

This is the best day of the week for me. It is my flex day so I get to spend (almost) every Wednesday at home. Today we slept in until almost 8:30, it was so nice. Even though Timothy has been sleeping through the night for months now, it's nice when we get these 11 hour nights and I don't have to wake him up to go to daycare. This is why I'm looking for a part time job, these 40 hours weeks are killing me. If anyone has any ideas for work I can do at home, let me know.

So Timothy's funny story of the week is his new word. He was saying "dadadadadadadadadadadada" at everything and screaming it at the top of his lungs, but now the new word is "bababababababababa". Of course, it doesn't come out quite like that, it sounds more like "bubba" which makes sense I guess, he's a true Texan at heart. Brandon was so proud.

It's so amazing to watch Timothy grow and learn new things. I was so worried about him sitting up and then this morning I had him on the floor in his room while I was putting away his laundry and he was practicing crawling (so pretty much just pulling up on his hands and knees and rocking) when all of the sudden I look over and he's on his side pulling himself up to sit. He must have thought I was crazy because I ran over there and started clapping and praising him and he just laughed and fell back down onto his tummy to chase after a dust bunny. It's just a matter of time I guess and we'll be chasing him all over the house.

So since Wednesdays are my days off, this is probably when I'll have time to actually post some new stories. Brandon's usually on the computer at night so I don't have much time and weekends are hit or miss. This weekend is Friends & Family Round Up Weekend at our church so I'm sure we'll be busy. There's always something going on up here...

Joining the Crowd

So Brandon thinks it's a waste of time to start blogging, but what better way to keep in touch with old college friends and family? I was putting posts on our myspace site, but that got old and I don't really enjoy seeing people from my high school or all the weird and crazy invites that you get on there from people you obviously don't know and would never want to know. So here we are.

I imagine this will mostly be a way to share all of my crazy Timothy stories, he's hilarious and the source of constant entertainment. He just turned 6 months old yesterday and it seems like it's only been a few weeks. From what I hear, it never slows down. He's just started pulling up on his hands a knees like he really really wants to crawl but just can't quite figure out how to move forward yet, which is fine with me! I'm hoping we can move out of this yucky old house before he becomes mobile. All the hardwood floors and the icky old rug don't make for good crawling conditions!

Just to update those of ya'll that we haven't really talked to in a while...we're still in WA. Brandon is working for the Army as a contract specialist in the medical department so basically (from what I understand) he has to find surgeons and other medical people for the Army hospital to hire, it's a whole bidding process and I don't understand it at all, but he loves it so that's all that matters. He was able to get in this two year program back in May where he'll go from a GS-7 to a GS-11 in two years...anyone that knows anything about government pay grades knows that that is a good deal so we're happy for him. There's a chance that he might be able to transfer back down South too when his two years are up, so we could end up in San Antonio or Little Rock!

My job is the same as always, I'm still working for Weyerhaeuser in accounting and still trying to get out. I know that I have to work, but I've found that accounting is just not for me. So I'm in the process of finding something new and hopefully part time. We're hoping to move next month into a better and bigger house. Anyone that has seen our house knows that it is more trouble than it's worth.

Timothy is growing by leaps and bounds. He was above the 95th percentile for his height (29 inches already!) and somewhere around the 80th for his weight (19 pounds!). He's the funniest baby I've ever seen. He can make you laugh just by looking at you. He makes the silliest faces and the craziest sounds. We just started him on solids a couple of weeks ago and it is quite the chore to feed him. He wants to grab the spoon and then he gets both hands inside his mouth and starts to spit, but he eats! We all have to take a bath when he's done, but he loves it. We're going to today to get some pictures made in his Halloween costume, he's going to be a turtle. I can't wait, I've never been more excited for Halloween!

Well hopefully I won't let my house go to waste while I sit here and type, but I do hope that we can connect with friends and family on here. Nap time seems so short, I can hear the boy starting to play with his pacifier now...guess that means it's time to go!
